Microlending to women, by Laura Pajari

Many women do not have even a chance at survival if born into poverty. Nationally, 80% of people live on 10.00 a day and 10.00 a day is the high rankings. When a girl is born into poverty, she is already at risk of having to drop out of school due to lack of income. girls are not valuable in developing countries; boys go to school and girls stay home, clean, do housework, become married at 14, have a baby at 15 (chances of survival are low) and then the cycle continues to the next generation. This video covers all about microlending to women and the benefits that it can have. When you lend to women, they have a chance at survival, at staying in school, at earning an income. Statistics show that 90% of women who earn money use it to send their children to school compared to 30% of men. When women are given a chance at earning money, they will use it to educate their people which will in turn educate their country which will raise the economy and earn women more respect. With this respect comes less violence, less rapes, less adolescent marriages and pregnancies. This will create a tidal wave of change that gives all women a chance at having a life of her own. One that is not dictated by a man, one that is not forced upon her, and a life that she can call her own.
